On Saturday, October 26th, an intrepid band of Georgetown Rotarians and Interact members tackled a very challenging ramp build for Kathy, whose access to and from her home was hindered by the lack of a suitable ramp.

The site required a “custom design” caused by narrow passages and awkwardly placed support posts.  The challenges were all met in what turned out to be a six hour operation.

We are thankful for the efforts of Interact members Elizabeth, Emily , Jacob and Caleb and Rotarians led by George Lourigan and Cris Cash.  Significant engineering efforts were also provided by Glenn Beck, Alan Johnson, Barry Bowden and Denis Pepin.

The builds are part of the ongoing efforts by Texas Ramp Project to provide ramps for disadvantaged people.  The Georgetown Rotary Club has built over 65 ramps to date.
